Data Center Construction

For the healthy operation of all services provided through server computers, the internet, and local networks, a suitable data center construction is essential. Therefore, data center construction, which must operate continuously, is becoming increasingly important as one of the most crucial elements in information technology infrastructure.

In data center construction, the following steps should be followed:

  1. Walls: Firstly, the walls should be covered with double-sided plasterboard and insulated with stone wool, providing resistance to moisture and fire. Sound insulation and sound absorption properties should be achieved using mineral wool suspended ceiling panels.

  2. Raised Floor: A raised floor should be created, and load-bearing pedestals with point and distributed load-bearing capacity that can safely carry the material to be placed on the flooring should be installed. An anti-static floor covering should be applied.

  3. Floor Height: During flooring, attention should be paid to having the raised floor on the room floor at a height that allows for cold air circulation (at least 50 cm). Materials used for flooring should be selected to withstand up to 1500 kg.

  4. Support Legs: Support legs holding the tiles underneath the floor should be placed where the cabinet legs will be placed to facilitate the movement of cabinet loads.

  5. Security: The data center construction should include fire-resistant steel doors protected with durable locks. They should also provide good insulation against water and heat, and racks should be mounted on the walls for earthquake resistance.

In summary, a well-constructed data center is crucial for the reliable and uninterrupted operation of server-based services. The construction should ensure safety, security, and protection against various environmental factors such as fire, water, and seismic activities.

Data Center and Cabinet Installation

During the installation of a data center and cabinets, all external factors should be taken into consideration. First and foremost, site selection within the physical area, temperature control, humidity control, dust control, and measures against natural disasters are established. Subsequently, technical measures such as cabinet arrangement, power control, in-cabinet cabling, regular record-keeping, and finally, security and monitoring procedures are carried out.

Monitoring Systems

In data center environments, environmental monitoring systems include the following parameters:

  1. Climate Conditions: Monitoring temperature, humidity, and dew point values to ensure optimal environmental conditions.

  2. Electrical Conditions: Monitoring grid voltage frequency, UPS voltage-frequency, and grounding voltage to ensure stable and reliable electrical conditions.

  3. Air Quality: Monitoring air quality for factors like smoke, air conditioning gas leaks, natural gas leaks, and other pollutants that could impact the environment.

  4. Device Status: Detecting the bypass-fault conditions of equipment such as air conditioning units, UPS, generators, etc., through dry contact inputs.

These environmental monitoring systems play a crucial role in maintaining the proper functioning of data centers by ensuring that environmental conditions remain within acceptable limits and by providing early warnings in case of deviations.

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems are electronic devices that, in the event of power outages, generate electricity from the built-in battery or batteries, simultaneously protecting the critical load at their output from voltage fluctuations in the grid and maintaining a stable voltage.
